The negative reviews got some things wrong

The most important thing to know is that you can change how you insert the table top to obtain either an inclined surface or a flat surface. Yes, you have to pull out the top to change positions. What I love most about this desk is that it goes down low enough that I can sit at my low sofa and still be in a comfortable position to type.Pay attention to two things that I got wrong when assembling. The wheels with lock function go in the front. The supporting tube needs to angle in the correct way. I mounted it incorrectly and the table would tip over. Detail oriented people will probably not have a problem with the instructions, but if you are like me, you might miss those two details.

this table is particularly good

I use my laptop while I am sitting on my couch and I was using a TV table for the laptop. Needless to say, the whole thing was somewhat precarious. This table was easy to put together. It has ample space for the lap top and my coffee and it is easy to move around.
